Wow!! I can't believe that we are already at the end of 2013! I am sitting by the pool at the Fairfield Inn in Denver waiting for my turn to serve at the temple. Amy is doing a session right now. Unfortunately, the oh tub is not working, so Jantzen is complaining about being cold. I completely understand!! We have had a great trip to Denver, though and I'm very much enjoying my two weeks off with the kids. We stayed home in Colorado this year - visiting no family! What a blast! I think we have a new family tradition!!
Here's a few of the activities that we did over the break:
- Ice skating with several families from the Stake at EPIC in FTC - super fun and I'm realizing how old I'm getting!
- Snow skiing at Eldora on the 27th. We had a great time and Jantzen went skiing for the first time. He took a lesson and had a blast. It did help that the temp was close to 50 degrees!! Here's some photos:
- The Denver Museum of Nature and Science - what a blast! It was Ashtyn's birthday yesterday and we took her to one of her favorite places. We really did have a good time! For dinner, we went to Cinzetti's and had way too much food!
- Hotel stay in Denver - as a part of the trip to Denver, we added a free hotel stay so that Amy and I could make it to the temple today. It has been very fun!
- Two very lazy days at home. We really enjoyed staying home and playing with the kids. I think I played with them more because I was at home!! This has truly been a very much needed break!
- Dinner Theatre to see Scrooge. Amy and I were exhausted, but we really enjoyed the play
- Cello Jam at our house - I hope we make this a new tradition each year. Having live strings playing Christmas songs in the home is pretty amazing!
- Jantzen allergy tests. He was tested to see if he was allergic to dogs. He is not, but he is allergic to corn pollen - we have a ton of that in Colorado
Time to finish up for today. I'm very excited to switch my journaling over to a blog. I like the idea of keeping it in the cloud so I never lose the contents and I'm also excited to be able to print out a book version at the end of every year! I'm also excited about this app and I hope that I can continue to be consistent with journaling this year. I did a pretty good job last year.
