Vacation is over

I can't remember the last time that I was blessed with two full weeks off work to be with my family and not have to work. It was really incredible. In my last post, I touched on some of the things that we did during the first week. Here are some things that we did this week:

  • Temple trip - Amy and I both attended the temple on New Years Eve. The temple was only open until the 11am session, so it was actually a little difficult for us to both attend. Amy did the 8:00 am session, but didn't make it back to the hotel until 10:30am. I got to the temple and did sealings until 11:45. It was a great experience. After the temple, we checked out of the hotel and went quickly to the Colorado Mills mall to return a Lego set and do some quick shopping. It was really fun. We them stopped by SAMs on the way home to start our Raclette plans
  • New Years Eve - we had the Pembertons and the Murray's over for dinner and games. We had raclette and fondue. It was a really fun evening. Everyone stayed until 11pm, so the kids actually stayed up until midnight.
  • New Year's Day - this was the start of our big house moving project. We moved the kids rooms around and it took a ton of effort. We got two beds from Craigslist and we bought another bed and some furniture from America Furniture Warehouse. We spent time on Wed, Thur, and Fri on the project and we still have more to do.
  • Movie theatre - I went to see three movies this week - 47 Ronin (not bad, but not great), Walking with the Dinosaurs (a decent kids movie) and the 2nd Hobbit movie (I enjoyed this one the most).
  • Eldora skiing - Shawn Murray and I were able to take Will, Ella, Jantzen, and Ashtyn skiing on Saturday. Alyssa was feeling sick, so she stayed home. Connor went to Merit Badge University, so he stayed home as well. We had a blast as it snowed 6 inches while we skied. Ashtyn and Jantzen are doing much better and learning tons. The day was threatened slightly when their generator died, but it turned out great. I'm looking forward to taking the kids up again.
  • Today - crepes! We invited the Hardings and the Jones to dinner tonight. We made crepes and we had a blast. I got to hold the Hardings one month old son for a while. It was good preparation for our new little one that is coming in a few months. He will be hear before we know it.

Time for bed. Here's some photos of this last week:

(Amy is not a big fan our the dogs, so we had to take this shot)
