When we arrived home from our Redwood vacation on Friday night, we were welcomed by the Shepherd's and the Holt's. They are staying at our home this weekend as we all celebrate Baby James Holt's baby blessing. As a part of the weekend, we woke up on Saturday, after sleeping in a bit, and then drove down to Denver to meet the Denver Holt's and the Sparrow's at a huge park in Thornton. This is one super huge park, complete with paddle boats and a carousel on top of an awesome splash pad and play ground. We expected to be there a couple of hours, but we stayed for 4.5 hours. We played football, basketball, did the paddle boats and enjoyed watching the kids play at the park. It really was a treat and we all had a blast. I told Amy that I can't remember a Saturday at home where I had so much fun, felt so relaxed and really enjoyed myself!
Here are some fun photos at the park:
After the park, we went to Ryan's place and enjoyed some burgers and hot dogs, playing corn-hole and pool and just relaxing at their home. Unfortunately, Jantzen got pretty sick and we think he suffered from a heat stroke. He through up about 7 times, completely emptying his stomach and had a really bad headache. We gave him a blessing and within 30minutes, he was back to himself. It was a great lesson for him and a reminder for all of us.
