Trip to Oulu, Finland to visit Nokia

We've been working hard since our trip to Finland in May to secure some business with Nokia.  We've had several meetings in CA since May and we've finally broken through the first few layers to allow us to travel to Finland and meet with 2 of the key architects in Nokia.  Mika and Jaako where both very accommodating and we had very successful meetings with them yesterday.  As you can see from the photos below, it was pretty cold in Oulu, but it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be as it was a dry cold and very similar to CO.  I will add another post to capture the meal we had with Nokia last night as well.

Above is the 747 plane that we took from Denver to Frankfurt - I was thankfully upgraded to business class and enjoyed my seat in the upper deck.

Here's the very small plane that we flew from Helsinki to Oulu.  It was a very tiny plane and the turbo props were very loud, but it was surprisingly comfortable!

A view of the center square in Oulu as we walked to a bar after landing.  I hung out with the sales team a bit and enjoyed my diet pepsi while they drank many beers.  I bailed on them at 11pm - I couldn't stay away any longer!

It was dark most of the time we were in town due to how far north Finland is.  This was a view from the lobby of the Nokia site as we went to lunch.  It snowed about 2 inches during the day and it was very cold.

The weather for the week - it was cold, but actually a little warmer than normal.

Check out the sunrise and sunset for Oulu - only 4 hours of daylight in the winter - wow!
