Amy and I have been talking about starting our own little real estate investment company for a while and we finally pulled the trigger this weekend. We still have some legal things that we want to work out - like actually starting the company, but we decided to go ahead with the offer and it was accepted in less than an hour! Wow!
We had asked Adam and Mary to go ahead and start looking for a place they liked. They visited many different properties and fell completely in love with one of them. We saw it with them on Saturday and we agreed that it was a very nice property. Super great location in Observatory Village, right next to my work. I was actually pretty surprised at how nice that neighborhood is. It's a super nice little place! Adam will have his own little office and there are 4 bedrooms upstairs, plenty of room for them to grow in this place. The unfinished basement also gives them options down the road. There are a couple of "quicks" with the place overall (small laundry room, carpet in the master bath room, small 2-car garage, etc), but the benefits outweigh any downsides.
We offered list-price $420k, which included the outdoor playset and the fridge. We close on 6/15, so Amy and I have been working hard to pull everything together since the offer was accepted. It was a pretty quick deal! We saw the home at 3pm and our offer was accepted at 7:30pm. I was even able to have Gene Gustafson send me a pre-qual letter right as we sent our offer in. Totally awesome!!
