RezMen - Made2Make

Although it was a crazy week and I really just wanted to spend the weekend with my family and play games, Amy talked me into going so that I could keep my obligation to Jack. It was raining like crazy on the way up and I thought I would run out of gas, but it all worked out and I arrived about 30min before things got started. I was very pleasantly surprised to see about 500 men in attendence and honestly, it was a really great evening.

First, we started with a cool opener - music, singing and then a "spoken word" artist to top it off. Afterwards, there was some more worship - which consists of standing and singing songs that were led by a full band (electric piano, guitars and drums). The sound balance was incredibly good and I didn't feel like the music was too loud at all.

Next, Pastor Mike, the men's Pastor, took some time to speak with us and we heard another poem from Jose, the "spoken word" artist. The messages were really good and I agreed with 99% of the messages that were shared.

Finally, the evening switched over to Carlos Whitaker. He spoke for about an hour and I was 100% engaged (along with 500 other men). He did a fantastic job! He spoke about "moments" and how we need to just stay still and enjoy "moments". In fact, he even asked us to "rescue moments", which is to take advantage of whatever circumstances are around us and to rescue those moments by doing service or helping out. He was very well spoken, was funny, but did a great job diving into scripture and teaching the congregation.

Although it wasn't conventient, I will never forget my weekend up at the YMCA in Estes Park, hanging out with the men from Resurrection Fellowship. It was great to see Jack there and I sat with Rob Bassett and his son during the show. Again - a super great experience!
