The only bad part of this weekend was that I had to leave this morning for China - on a Sunday morning. I really had missing out on Sunday's - especially fast Sunday's - they are my favorite day of the week! But the rest of the weekend was really fantastic!
On Friday morning, Amy let me sleep in a bit, then I watched the kids and did the finances while she ran a few errands. It was really nice. I was planning to get some yard work done as well, which I did, but Amy helped out a bunch by finishing with mowing the field. Finances took a while, but we made it work. We are going to have to pull the trigger on some more options to pay for some of our most recent expenses. The new suits cost a ton of money, plus we've paid around $2k in extra expenses to get Adam and Mary into the house. At any rate, they are in now, we've aligned on our rental agreement now and things look good. I just pray that the rental deal works out well with them!
At 2:30pm, Shawn invited me to join him for golf. He took Will and I took Jantzen. It was a ton of fun! We ended up having Lance and Trish, 2 other members, join us for the round. That was really fun. I didn't play that well, but we had fun. I realized that it was my 3rd time playing golf already in one week and I played again on Saturday. I think alarms went off for both Amy and I! Time to cool it a bit with the golf!
Jantzen and I had a really great time though! I really enjoy hanging out with him! He's such a great kid! His favorite part was that I let him drive the golf cart most of the time. The only "rough" spot was when he drove it into a tree! I'm just glad he didn't hurt himself!
After golf, Jantzen and I enjoyed a quick trip to Chick-Fil-A before meeting up with Alyssa and Aubrey at the Theatres to watch "Inside-Out", the new Pixar movie. It was a pretty good flick. We got home pretty late though.
On Saturday, I spent the first 1.5 hours out in the yard, spraying the weeds. I was able to spray 6 gallons of weed killer, but I probably need at least another 6 gallons. At 8am, we loaded up bikes and went to the pancake breakfast at the church. We had invited both wards, but it was mostly the Severance Ward that showed up. It was really fun and it was nice to enjoy some time with the ward members. I heard the rumor, that was confirmed at church today, that they are finally going to split our Stake during Stake Conference in August! Looks like we will pick up 1-2 units from the Loveland Stake as well. Who knows, we may even get part of Fort Collins as well. I think our Stake Center will become the building by the Temple, which will be nice. I may never have to go to Greeley again!
After the pancake breakfast, we had a little bike parade at the church. Super fun! Little Jarrett got to be in the lead with Alyssa pushing. He LOVES to ride his little bike! He's so much fun!
After a few more hours in the yard, doing various things, Ryan and Jennica showed up and I took Ryan golfing. It was really fun! We were going to play 18 holes, but I'm glad we cut it back to 9. It was really fun to play, but we needed to stop so that we can join the rest of the family at the pool. We ended up spending around 2 hours at the pool swimming with the Murray's as well as Ryan and Jennica. I played with Jarrett most of the time. I love playing with him at the pool! So much fun! The best part is watching him bust up with laughter when I make a basket and he really loves to chase the balls in the water.
After swimming, we ran home, cleaned up, and then hosted a BBQ with the Murray's, Adam and Mary, with Trey and Sierra, and Ryan and Jennica. It was really fun. We made a ton of burgers and brats and they were all gobbled up! Here's a fun photo of the crew last night:
Everyone left around 9pm, so I packed up Ashtyn, Alyssa and Jantzen and we drove down to the church parking lot. We barely found a place to park, but we did and we made it to a nice patch of grass about 10 minutes before the fireworks started. That may be the first time we've ever driven all the way to Windsor Lake to watch the fireworks and it was worth it. The show lasted 20min and it was really good. The kids all really enjoyed it!
