Funeral of Buddy Holt

Although this must have been one of the hardest weeks of their lives, the Holts endured it well this week.  On 6/22, Buddy Holt, one of their twins, died of a drug overdose.  I still don't know what drugs or mixture of drugs caused his death, but that doesn't matter.  Buddy had been battling Drug Addiction for most of his life and it unfortunately caught up with him.

The funeral was held today and it was very well attended.  The Holt's have a very large family and the Severance Ward did an incredible job hosting members of their family, both on Scott and Lara's side.  We hosted the McEckern's, a family of 7 and enjoyed being able to serve them during this time of loss and tragedy.  

I was especially touched by the music and the messages from Buddy's parents and brothers.  It was a very uplifting funeral and I was only privileged to be able to officiate at this incredible service.  I also learned that Buddy was a fan of "motivational quotes" and there were many that were added as a part of his viewing.  They were very cool and I grabbed a few pictures of some of them.

The viewing on Sunday night was also very well attended, with pretty much a constant line going from 6pm to 9pm.
