We had a great Saturday together as a family - it was so very nice! We started the day with some soccer and volleyballs games - these were all very fun. I've come to really enjoy watching the kids play sports on Saturdays. It takes time, but it's kind of relaxing - much better than watching TV or a movie....
Jantzen has gotten really aggressive playing soccer - he attacks and isn't afraid to be knocked down. I hope he continues to be as aggressive when basketball season rolls around in January. I will NOT be able to coach his team this year - with the Bishop calling, there just isn't enough time. But I look forward to watching him play and cheering him on!
Alyssa's team won their volleyball game against a good team. The game is definitely about "service" at the level she is playing at - but she is getting better every week. This week, Jantzen enjoyed playing with Paige and Tyler while we watched Alyssa play.
After sports were over, we all went outside to tackle the garden. We did our final "harvest" of the year, yielding TONS of tomatoes, squash and melons, then we pulled out the garden and let Ashtyn turn the soil. We all worked really well together as a family - I was very impressed!
Likely the largest tomato plant we've ever had, this one yielded a TON of little pear-shaped cherry tomatoes - really good!
After we finished, we played inside for a while - the girls had fun wrestling in the family room - I needed to take a photo as it was great to hear them laughing together.
As you tell - we had the room set up for Conference Saturday - we enjoyed the "wrestling match" in between sessions. We had to record the morning session due to sports, but we enjoyed the first half of the morning session from 1-2pm, then we dove right into the afternoon session at 2pm. I drove to the Trilby building (our new Stake Center) and enjoyed the priesthood session their - it was really nice!
