What an awesome opportunity it was to take the family to Mexico for Christmas. It was an experience that we will never forget and it was just so amazing! For the journal entries, I will be using Amy's write-up - she did such a great job summarizing each day, but I will add photos as well.
Day 1: Flew out of Denver and down to Cancun. We were excited to leave the very cold week behind us. We felt slightly guilty for leaving Mom and Dad at our house during such a cold week! We cruised through check-in and security: a HUGE benefit of Jason’s frequent travel. The lines were horrible for everyone else. No matter because our plane ended up being delayed for over two hours. Babies and toddlers were crying everywhere in the very crowded airport. It was one of the moments when we were glad that Jarrett wasn’t with us. Arrived in Cancun after dark and just went to the resort and checked in. Practiced up on my Spanish, talking with the bus driver on the way down.
Check-in was a breeze, but with extra time in the airport, we walked around and had some fun.
A great view of the coastline as we approached Cancun:
For dinner, we ate at the Mexican restaurant - it was really good.
