Happy Father's Day

I must say - I really love Father's Day. Amy always does such a great job at making the entire weekend special. It is really nice to feel the love from all of my family. With all of the health issues, Mom passing away and the new baby, it has been a very difficult year. Having a weekend with a little focus on me was very refreshing and nice.

So, here's how the weekend went. Amy did a great job planning things:

  • Friday night was the Book Of Mormon Read-a-Thon. I plan to make a separate post to talk about this event. Needless to say, it was awesome and we had a great time together!
  • Saturday morning - I slept for 5 hours after sending the boys home. I was so very exhausted. I would have preferred to do a little more yardwork, but it was nice to get some sleep as well.
  • For lunch, we ate a little late (2pm). Jantzen and I needed haircuts, after that, Amy picked us up and blindfolded me - driving me to Texas Roadhouse as a surprise. Ashtyn actually let the cat out of the bag earlier in the morning, but it was still fun. The kids loved that I was blindfolded.
  • After lunch, they blindfolded me again, then took me to the movie theatre. Amy actually drove around the parking lot for a while to try to "trick" me. We watched "How to Train Your Dragon 2". It was a great movie and we had a great time together.
  • After the movie, we just went home and I took a quick nap - I was exhausted still. We opened presents and the kids got me some legos. We spend the evening building legos and then went to bed.
  • Sunday was a great day. The kids made breakfast for me and we enjoyed being together. Church was great and I taught Priesthood. It was really a great discussion on Priesthood Power. The boys really got it and we felt the spirit.
  • During the Book of Mormon read, I had a little revelation. I was impressed that Connor knew so much about the Book of Mormon, yet I know that he's having testimony issues. The revelation is that knowledge is not enough. We also need to have the spirit. It is also easier to deny diety than to deny desire.
  • For dinner on Sunday, I grilled steaks and we enjoyed a nice evening together. It was really fun to be together. We built Legos again and enjoyed pie. We also did facetime with my Dad and LaMar. It was a great evening.
  • Here are a few photos of the weekend. Little Jarrett is getting so cute. He is starting to smile more now and it's fun to hold him and be with him. He's a good litle baby! I've also included a few photos of the gifts that the kids made for me - I love my kids!!

Baby Jarrett was even enjoying playing Lego's! The kids have started to really enjoy playing with him. It's been fun to be with him.
