Although it was more expensive than it should have been, we really enjoyed Universal Studios! It was fantastic day, weather was perfect (and hot) and the crowds were manageable. We arrived at Universal about 1 hour early and we were in line about 45 minutes early. Amy and I only took Ashtyn and Alyssa - it was WAY too expensive to try to take the whole family and they would not have appreciated the experience.
I was very nervous about having to wait in line for 45 minutes, but they ended up opening the park up 30 minutes early (which we didn't know about). We quickly ran over to the "Escape from Gringotts" ride - best ride ever and we were one of the first to board. Then, we let the girls pick out a wand at Olivanders before boarding the Hogwarts Express. We were in Diagon Alley and we traveled over to Hogsmeade. We spent the rest of the morning in Hogsmeade, riding Dragon Challenge and Harry Potter's Journey, where we got to go into Hogwarts castle. We had lunch at the Three Broomsticks (very good lunch, but I ate way too much). Then, after we had done everything, we boarded the train and went back to Diagon Alley. We just visited shops, spent too much money and enjoyed everything from the Butter Beer to the Candy from Honeydukes and the fun toys at Weasley's shop. The girls really enjoyed using their wands to perform "magic" at various parts of the park - it was really a fun place. Here are photos of this great Day 3 at Universal Studios:
