I think the entire family really enjoyed the Animal Kingdom, but I will be honest - I almost ruined it for everyone! We were hustling over to "Expedition Everest" when we first arrived at the park. We had a fastpass for the Safari, but we wanted to do the roller coaster before the lines got long. Well, we all ran over, but arrived at different times (bathroom breaks, etc). Long story short - I lost my temper because Amy didn't put Jantzen on the ride and we lost our rider-swap pass trying to get LaMar to catch up with the rest of us. In hind-sight, I was really stupid and it almost cost us the day. I was able to cool down and apologize, but in retrospect, I was very rude and impatient and I'm still sorry about it and I feel very guilty! Definitely a good reason to apologize.
Once we got over this issue, the rest of the day was really great. We did get to enjoy the roller coaster and it was a crazy one! The ride actually went backwards for a portion of the ride! Ashtyn even enjoyed it, though. We really enjoyed the safari, the bugs-life play area, the circus area and basically the entire park! We had lunch on a little shady spot and planned out the rest of our day. Dinner was in "Africa" at the Tusker House - it was a character dinner with Mickey, Goofy, Donald and Daisy. Poor little Jarrett decided that he doesn't really like the characters - he cried like crazy - it was kind of funny...
Here's our agenda for the day and some photos of an AWESOME day at Disney World!
The photo above was a selfie from the seats of the expedition Everest ride - a pretty fun roller coaster ride in the Disney Animal Kingdom. This was the first ride of the day (the one with all of the contention, that we thankfully worked through - I still feel bad!)
Photos above are of the African Safari and a great African drum band. This last photo is of the "tree of life", which is a fun tree with different animals carved in the trunk. We have some good photos from Disney's photopass with this tree in the background.
Jantzen and I braved the rapids ride without ponchos - the rest of the crew decided to wear them. It helped AMY, but poor Aubrey was soaked, right through her poncho. The force of the water took the hood off and the water just poured through the neck of the poncho.
Great photo of Jantzen and Grandpa learning to arm wrestle. LaMar had a great time with the kids!
These photos were taken when we were waiting in line for the Lion King show - AWESOME show. Photos below:
Another classic and fun ride - Triceritop Spin ride!
The last photo was a view from the top of the ride. This was also the area where we lost Alyssa for a while. Turns out she was following the "wrong Dad". When she figured it out, she turned around and found us quickly. We were pretty scared though! In the end, this was the only issue we had, which is pretty incredible given the size of these parks and the number of people walking around!
We all really loved and enjoyed the Nemo show - very original way to present a show - puppets and great outfits. The cast did a GREAT job - excellent signers and voices!
Dinner at the Tusker house - we were all STARVED and the food was a fantastic buffet. We all overate and it was awesome!
Ashtyn's face is classic!! Love her expression - Donald Duck is not her gig right now...
This last photo was taken after Daisy Duck surprised Jarrett - he was NOT happy about it!
Fun scenery outside the ASIA area in the park. Again - fantastic park!
