While in California on business, I got a text from Amy that Halle had jumped into the play-yard and grabbed Ebony, the solid black bunny that we've had for a few weeks. Halle took her out to the field and killed the bunny. This was a VERY sad moment for the family, especially Alyssa, who found Ebony's body out in the field.
I let Alyssa know that she had earned my trust in taking care of the bunnies and I told her we could get some more bunnies. The only requirement was that we get real "baby" bunnies instead of the nearly full-grown bunnies that we got last time. Ebony and Willow are not really "tame" and they've been hard to handle and care for. Well, before I even returned from my 2 day trip, Amy and the girls acquired some lop eared baby bunnies. They are super cute and they are already bonding with the kids. They've played with them every day and they are much more careful with them around the dogs, which is super important!
