Labor Day - Family Fun Day

Although I really love the 4th of July, I've come to think that we have the most fun of the year on Labor Day. We always do the Harvest Festival Parade, which is great every year. Then we head over to the Main Park and enjoy the games, the food and the festivities. This year, Tracie got ripped off by a "Card Reader" - she gave Tracie a special individual reading for $50 - it was pretty bogus!

But it was really fun to go do all of these things with Dad, Robin and Tracie. Marilyn and LaMar were also at the parade as Ryan, Jennica, Ben and Addy came up to enjoy the fun as well. After the parade, though, Amy's family went to Denver so that Ryan and Jennica could go on a date and get some time to themselves, which is a very rare opportunity for them.

We had a great BBQ later in the day, complete with Amy's special flag cake, shown below.

We also put the kayaks in the water and tried to do a little fishing, but the water was actually too high and our lures kept getting tangled. We didn't have any good live bait, so fishing was a bust. We will do it again, though!
