Jantzen's Baptism

After waiting over 2 months so that family could come out and participate in the occasion, my sweet little Jantzen was baptized! He is SUCH a great little boy. We are spoiled to have a young man with such a great personality and a huge heart. It's interesting how some parents want their children to excel in sports. I want the same for Jantzen, but he's not as aggressive as some because he's so sensitive and worries about others. I would prefer that type of a personality over the type-A, aggressive, ignore others personality that typically accompanies great athletes!

The baptism wasn't until 4pm, so I took Tyler and Jantzen to get haircuts at Great Clips. I'm very happy I went as well - I needed one and they did a GREAT job!

We played some games at home and even chilled to watch a few football games (especially the BYU vs Nebraska game), but at 3pm, it was "go-time". Things got a little stressful making sure we arrived on time, but it went really well. Here's our photo before the baptism. The only downside of being "last" is that they had run out of XL jumpsuits - so I wore XXXXL - it was HUGE!

The baptismal service was really good - talks were short and even with 3 kids being baptized, it was over in slightly less than 1 hour. Both the Bishop and Scott Nackos were there as well - they both knew about my new calling as I called Scott to be one of my counselors. They are GREAT MEN, and the ward is really going to miss the Hopkins family. I hope they find a way to move back!

After Jantzen's baptism, we had a BBQ at the house, played games and enjoyed relaxing outside. The weather was really great all weekend - only a brief rain storm on Labor Day!
