Wow - what a week and what an end to this week! After hitting over 70F for 3 or 4 days this week, it is now below 20F and it has been snowing all day long. Luckily, the heavy snow didn't set in until after church, so we got to say inside and enjoy the warmth of our home instead of having to drive outside.
As mentioned in a previous post this week, I have been battling a bacterial infection named c-diff all week long. I have felt super bad - kind of like having the stomach flu, all week long. Part of the problem is that I never really slowed down. I couldn't or at least I didn't feel like I could slow down. I had two pretty big meetings on Friday that I was preparing for and I needed to be at work. They both went well. The first was my quarterly section meeting. I have to admit that I'm pleased that I've held 4 of these meetings in the past year and they've all gone pretty good. The team gets a really good download of information from me and I think they really enjoy having an environment where they can ask questions and have a good dialogue on things. I will definitely say that The Lord was with me this week in not only preparing for this meeting, but for delivering the content as well. I was feeling pretty sick on Friday and I was able to make it through the meeting.
The second meeting on Friday was actually a discussion with LSI managers on WW ASIC capacity. The discussion went really well and I think we have a really good shot at making some very positive changes in some of the programs that we are working on. I will definitely say that I was super excited to see the progress of things. It will be very different working with these folks, but I think it will be good. I expect that I will have a ton to learn as well.
Honestly, I'm actually a little suprised at how bad I've felt today. I thought I would be feeling much better. Yesterday was actually a pretty good day for me. The basement is now finished and I spent a ton of time working in the basement, I mowed and fertilized the lawn, we moved mattresses downstairs and set up the bathrooms. We really did a ton of work and today, I felt like I did on Friday!! It was bad. But, in retrospect, I realized that I had taken one of my Relafin's last night (my back was really hurting) and I'm pretty sure it made me sick. I'm not planning on taking them ever again. I need to work back with Dr. Burns on this to figure out the next steps, but I'm definitely not taking Relafin again!
Today, even with the snow and the sick, was a good day. I was able to get some rest, hometeach the Greene's with Brother Stocks, attend Scout Committee meeting and play a couple of games with the family tonight. We've been doing much better with our scripture reading as a family as well. I hope to keep that habit going. The next week is going to be crazy as we make our final preparations for Baby Jarrett! I can't believe he will be here in just one week! Wow!!
