I visited Dr. Walton today to get my stitches removed from the bone graft that I had a couple of weeks ago. The healing was "okay", but not the best that we were hoping for. It will definitely take multiple rounds of bone grafting before we will get the benefit that we are after. Too bad!! The good news is that most of the graft did take, so there is hope for the future. However, it will be another ~6 months before we will really know how well the graft took (i.e. how much more bone did we get around the teeth). I'm praying for a miracle!
Ashtyn got her braces off today and she was SUPER excited. Here's a fun photo of her with no braces:
She will probably have to get braces again as a teenager, but for now, much of the fundamental dental issues (i.e. cross-bite) have been fixed. I'm happy that she won't have to go through what I'm going through!!
We head for Colorado Springs on vacation today. I can't wait to get away!
