Definitely one of the most anticipated, yet dreaded events of my life so far. On Thursday, I had my first ever colonoscopy. The goal was to dive in there, check things out and make sure that I don't have any weird things going on, especially since I've been experiencing such difficult digestion issues this year. So, on Wednesday, I had breakfast then switched over to clear liquids only afterwards. It was pretty difficult to go without food that first day, but then at 6pm, i started drinking the citrate stuff and it made me so sick that I wasn't really interested in eating anymore - at all!!
I worked from home on Thursday - but I did get to spend some fun time with Jarrett on both Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. Amy left him with me and I really enjoyed being with him. He doesn't have to be held all the time, so it's fun to just sit by him and talk to him. He's always so happy - we were definitely blessed with that sweet baby!
Procedure time - at 2pm, we checked in and Amy ended up bringing Aubrey and Jarrett to sit and wait. Well, they called me back pretty quickly, at around 2:15pm and we started getting things going. Jeremy Huff was able to rotate over to the Harmony Surgery center, so he was in charge of my treatment and making sure I had the right "soup". My case was pretty simple since the procedure is so simple. Having Jeremy there was very cool. He made the experience fun and in the end, everything checked out normal and healthy. No issues to worry about at all - I have a clean bill of health!! Yeah!!
