After spending a great weekend with my family, I decided to quickly document my mother's dream home. Since Dad and Robin will likely find a new place to live and sell Mom's dream house, I wanted to document this wonderful home so that I will always be able to remember the great times we've had in this home. The funny thing about this house is that none of the kids grew up in this home, yet we all feel that it is home - it was Mom's dream home and she earned it!
Before adding the photos, I will detail the events of the day. This morning, we got up, got everyone dressed up in church clothes and enjoyed the free buffet breakfast at the Residence Inn. I say "free" loosely - the hotel cost us $780, so the breakfast was FAR from free!! After breakfast, we drove up to Mom's house for our "stay-at-home" testimony meeting. The Asheville Stake was re-organized today, so they had Stake Conference. We didn't want to fight the crowds and the parking at the Assembly Hall here, so we had our own testimony meeting. It was very special! Everyone bore their testimony and there was a very sweet spirit in the home. Even Tracie shared her feelings with us. It was AWESOME! I will say that only Alyssa did a great job bearing her testimony in my family, so we need to work on that during FHE. We will try to spend the next month on testimonies, with the goal that everyone bears their testimony at least once a month (at home or at church).
After our testimony meeting, we cleaned up a bit, took some souvenirs (books and small paintings) and then we left for Knoxville around 4pm. It took a little longer to get to Knoxville - there was a large wreck on the freeway. Google-Maps warned us and gave us a detour, which helped a bunch - the traffic looked horrible!
Here at the hotel, we let the kids swim and no we are winding down. It will be a VERY early day tomorrow as we have to catch an 8am flight with this large family...
Okay - now the photos of Mom's home (along with some other photos from the day.)
