I'm very glad that Shawn Murray called me this week to invite us to go skiing. If he hadn't called me, I'm sure that I wouldn't have taken the family and we would have really missed out. It was a near perfect day up at Eldora, complete with fresh falling snow all day long and very little wind. The kids weren't cold and everyone had a great time. The only mishap of the day was losing track of Ashtyn for 45 minutes. It was a very scary few moments for sure!! On our last run of the day, I told everyone that we would meet at the lodge to pick up Jantzen and Aubrey from ski school. Unfortunately, Ashtyn didn't hear that and she was a little slow getting down the mountain. When she got to the bottom, we had already made the turn to the lodge, but she didn't see us. So, she camped out at the Sundance ski-lift for 30min before walking to the bunny hill to try and find us. I finally found her as she was walking back from the bunny hill. I was scared to death that we had lost her!! I even had the ski patrol calling on the radio to locate her. I didn't know she was missing for about 25 minutes because I was dealing with the younger kids, but once I realized she wasn't around, I was REALLY freaked out!! I'm so glad we found her quickly!!
Here are some fun photos of the day:
The photo above is actually of Ashtyn hugging a tree! We went through a short tree-line and she got off track and literally hugged a tree. It was kind of funny...
