I was hoping for an awesome and fun Saturday - that's not what I got! At all! It ended up being over stressful and was rather difficult. We made it through the day and actually, once we made it to Sierra's baptism, everything turned out pretty well. Here are the highlight:
- 9am - Jantzen's basketball game. I admit that I've really enjoyed coaching Jantzen's team this year and I was hoping they would do a great job. Well - we ended up playing the most stacked team of the league and we were hammered - 38-4. It was a rough game to say the least. I thought I was dealing with it pretty well, but then Amy scolded me a bit for yelling too much at the boys. I wasn't yelling at them, I was just trying to make sure that they heard me. However, after thinking about her feedback, I will change my approach next time and try to get the boys to step up and have more fun while they play. It was a great learning experience for me - but it was painful
- 10:30 - I took Jantzen to Great Clips for haircuts. We were both getting pretty "woolie"! :) Amy took the rest of the family shoe shopping. It was a successful trip for all of us.
- 11:30 - We met back at home and the Bateman's came to cook us dinner and sell us some cookware and the special "salad-shooter". I wasn't really excited about spending $6k on cookware, but we went ahead and did it and we're happy about the decision. In fact, we were both genuinely excited to get the cookware and to use it to cook more healthy dinners together. I'm going to use it to make salads for work everyday.
- 3:30 - Sierra's baptism. This turned out to be a very special event. I was supposed to be at Stake Conference training for YM, but couldn't due to the baptism. I'm kind of glad - I would rather be with my family! Here are a few photos of the baptism. Little Sierra looked beautiful and it was fun to be there. I will say that I was very UNIMPRESSED that Stan (Sierra's Dad) did not invite Adam to participate in the prayer circle for Sierra. Wow - pretty uncool!
- After the baptism, we raced home and really enjoyed what the evening had in store for us. Amy and I skipped Stake Conference to attend a work dinner with Stephen Clarke's team. It was a really great dinner at Jay's Bistro in Fort Collins. We had a great time and the food was delicious.
