The BEST ZOO DAY EVER!! Wow - what a fantastic day a the zoo! I've always felt that the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is my favorite zoo of all time, and today justified my feelings on that again! We had such a great time! The weather was perfect (overcast and not too hot), the animals were very active, and we timed our activities perfectly! So much fun!! It was especially fun to watch Jarrett discover these animals!
Zoo Highlights:
- Playing around the first morning. The zoo was empty and it was fun for Jarrett and the little kids to get some energy out!
- The Rhino - we hit this exhibit perfectly - right during feeding time. Such an incredible animal! We also loved seeing the Elephants, who were very active as well!
- The old airplane - the kids love to play inside. It wasn't busy, yet, so we had it to ourselves!
The Baby Wallaby - such a soft and cuddly creature!
- The Budgie house - we could have stayed here all day! Jarrett was mesmorized! So much fun!
- The Lion exhibit and demonstration was cool - but way too many people there!
- Check out the view from our table at lunch time! Wow!
- Always a highlight - the Carousel!
- We didn't see Ashtyn during the day, but we did meet up with Alyssa. You could tell immediately that she was having a blast with her new friends at zoo camp. I'm so glad that we signed them up. It was really a treat!
- The face-painting left something to be desired, but it was done by volunteers and we just gave them a $5 donation - you get what you pay for...
- The Big Backyard - a really fun place for the kids to play and have fun!
- The reptile exhibit - one of the coolest animal exhibits that I've ever seen, it not the coolest!
