I have always preferred having work holidays on Monday and today is no different. We had a great day today as a family. I really love spending time with my kids and goofing off with them. Amy was in an exceptional mood today as well. It was just a great day.
First, I played some basketball at the church to get exercise. I will admit upfront that I probably should have stayed home and exercised with the dogs. I didn't play very well until the 4th or 5th game and I re-injured my right ankle. I had to ice it tonight, it hurt so bad. When I injured my ankle, I actually lost my temper a bit and I feel bad about it. I normally don't do that, but with so many injuries and pains that I've been dealing with, I had a short fuse and I lost it. I did apologize to everyone and I feel really bad about it. That is NOT who I am and who I've become!! Makes me not want to play basketball anymore. Given how my body has been reacting to it, I may not be playing much longer.
I really need to get myself back in shape. I feel very weak and injure-prone. I'm tired a lot of the time and I have a real hard time with energy recently. I'm not sure why I've been feeling this way - maybe I just need an extended vacation.
After basketball, I spent some time with Greg, the painters and the tile-setters in the basement. All of the floor tile and the tub-surround tile has been laid and it looks great. The finished the grout today. The painters finished painting the green on the raised ceilings and they stained all of the trim that will be used in the basement. It all looks really great!
One surprise for the day was that the latch on the door to the washer broke, so I had to spend about an hour finding a replacement part in town. I got lucky and found a replacement for $8 at "Appliance Parts Depot" in Fort Collins.
We all enjoyed a great (but late) lunch at Olive Garden today. We used the gift-card that my Mom gave me for my birthday last week. It was a really great meal!
After lunch, we decided to spend the afternoon at Fort Fun. The sun came out just in time and we really enjoyed the weather. Here are a few photos of us playing golf and riding go-carts. The kids really enjoy going to this place and it is relatively inexpensive. We also played arcades and earned about 400 tickets, which the kids used for prizes. I must say that I was SHOCKED to see that a family has actually earned 7000 tickets today. It was incredible! They must have spend several hundred dollars and many hours working to earn that many tickets. Wow!
This evening, the sister missionaries came by and gave us a lesson. They invited us to invite a family to hear the lessons or come to church or do something. We accepted the invitation and they plan to come back next week to follow up with us. We will have to keep that request in our prayers!!!
