It is Friday morning - the last day of February and I will admit that I'm looking forward to the end of this week and to the end of February. This has been a really hard month, to say the least. I'm super exhausted right now! I've been in California since Wednesday AM and I haven't really slept much. It will be really nice to get home tonight and spend the weekend with the family! For sure!! I'm on a VERY full Southwest plane and I will admit that flying Southwest just isn't as nice as United when it comes to legroom. I am very cramped right now - but I'm getting some work done, so that's okay.
This week, I had some very interesting meetings on Monday and Tuesday. We had some of the big-dogs from LSI come out to Fort Collins to start looking at how to "integrate" APD into their scheme of doing business. I did enjoy spending time with them and talking about things, but there are definitely going to be some interesting power struggles to deal with and the transition is going to have some bumps. But, it felt good to be a part of the discussions!
On Tuesday night, Jantzen had his first-grade program at Rangeview. They did a patriotic theme this year and Jantzen did a really great job singing and dancing and doing his part of the program. He enjoyed that we all came to watch him perform. I even took the 6am flight on Wednesday AM so that I could be there for him. Here are a few photos of his performance. He looked great in his patriotic polo and he did a great job. Very proud of my son today!
On Wednesday, the flight to SFO was great, but it was raining pretty hard when I landed, so traffic from SFO to San Jose was pretty bad. Normally, you can make the drive in about 45min, but it took me close to 2 hours. I was able to listen to Frank's coffee talk while I drove, so the time went by pretty fast.
My first meeting on Monday was with Brocade. I had a 4 hour meeting and I had to do most of the presenting. I think the meeting went really well and Brocade seems to be continually pleased with our work. We have a real shot at winning the Goldeneye2 ASIC which will RFI in about a month. We'll see how things go.
After Brocade, I spent the rest of Wednesday and ALL day Thursday with Elway. We had a great DKO for the ST4 chip and I must admit that even though we had already gone through all of the material in London, it was beneficial to go through the material again. This time, we also had the SerDes folks present some more detail on PAM4 and P1 SerDes and that proved to be a very good discussion all around. I was very pleased with the meeting and I think Brad and his team did a great job.
For dinner on the first night, we went to Faz, a restaurant in the Sheraton Hotel, not too far from Elway. Last night, we went to Tarragon and I have a few photos to finish this blog of the restaurant and my meal (a very nice filet mignon).
Finally, before signing off, I need to give an update on our basement. It is getting VERY close to completing! Yeah!! Here's a photo that Amy sent of the basement kitchenette. I'm really glad we added this to the plans as it really looks great!
