It is early Tuesday morning and we just took off for SFO from DIA. I was planning on working right away, but I had to share the incredible photo that I just toook of the beautiful Rocky Mountains! I really love where I live:
Yesterday was a pretty good day back in the office. The fun part is that I didn't even get to the office until past noon. I volunteered at both the Middle School and the Elementary school yesterday morning. It was fantastic and a ton of fun. I really enjoy being in the classroom with the kids. I haven't been able to volunteer at Alyssa's class yet - so I will work on that next and see if I can spend a little time with her as well. I was also able to sneak over the McDonald's in Windsor, use their WIFI and get a little work done in the morning, between volunteering with Ashtyn and Jantzen. I also ate lunch with Jantzen - I actually brought my own lunch, which was quite nice and definitely much cheaper than always going out. I'm going to continue to try to do that whenever possible.
Last night, on the way home, I stopped by Sari Tocco's house for Meri Mitsiyoshi's farewell party. She was laid-off in mid-November - I didn't even know about it until yesterday - too much travel to China and Mexico! I've really enjoyed working with her, so it was nice to see her again (especially in FTC - she's normally based out of San Jose).
For FHE last night, I taught a wonderful FHE that I captured from a blog. The meat of the FHE was a talk on Christmas from Elder Holland. It was given in 1977 and it really warmed my heart to the core. I nearly teared up several times while reading the article. We let all of the kids share a bit about their thoughts and joys of Christmas. Alyssa didn't want to say much, which worries me a bit. She needs a date with Daddy!
After getting the kids to bed, Amy and I did some Christmas shopping on-line. It was actually pretty fun and we enjoyed spending the time together.
Today - I fly into SFO for meetings with Cisco. I have to stay the night since they didn't have any good flight options for the ride home tonight. My flight in the morning is SUPER early and I'm not staying at a really great hotel (staying at La Quinta). I do hope to spend some time catching up on my Journal! I still have 3-4 days of the Mexico trip to capture.....
