Playa del Carmen - Day 5

The last day of vacation - time to go home. Most of the day was a travel day, but we did get to enjoy another couple of hours on the beach, we hit the jackpot with conk shells on the beach and we enjoyed one last restaurant meal, right on the beach.

Travel home was pretty simple. We had to leave really early to catch the free shuttle. Next time, I might consider renting my own car, but in the end, we just didn't need a car except for the one day to Chichen Itza. So, we left for the airport about 4.5 hours early, got there with plenty of time and we just read our books and enjoyed some more time being together. I did get to call my boss and I got the information about my yearly bonus. Needless to say, I was shocked! I ended up getting a 6-digit year-end bonus (before taxes). I was floored - literally! That's more than I made my first 2 years on the job - and I got it for a bonus! We are definitely planning to put that money away for a rainy day. We are also setting the goal to be aggresive in paying down the mortgage. I would like to be completely debt free in the next 5 years. If we keep getting paid like we did last year, it should be simple.

Here are a few photos of our last day - it was a great day - too bad it was our last:

The photo above is our last meal at the resort. Great table right on the beach and we really enjoyed our last meal. Here are some photos of the dishes that we ate:
