Day 1 with ZTE started out pretty good. I was able to get out and go for a nice run and I really enjoyed it. I got lost a few times, but with the GPS, I was able to get home okay. After breakfast, we all poored into the bus that was rented for the entire week. At one point, we had 17 people from Avago for the DKO with ZTE, so it was nice to have the bus instead of everyone taking taxis.
I was actually thinking the DKO and training would go pretty fast, but WOW, my mind was changed quickly when we spent 30 min on the first slide and we had only made it through about 10 slides in the first 1.5 hours! At the end of presenting the first slide, ZTE asked Jerry Gao to translate for me. Wow - painful and very long. However, by the end of the day, Jack and I were pretty comfortable and everyone did a great job working with us to overcome the language barrier! For lunch, we went to a mall for a couple of hours and we did the "round-table" chinese meal. This is obviously a favorite for the locals - we did this twice a day for the ENTIRE week. Honestly, I was pretty sick of it, but it was okay...
I will say that the flounder was pretty good! There were very few bones in the fish, so it made it very good to eat. The duck head above was not very appetizing though!!
For dinner, we hit another round table (below). The fun part was the cool company party that was going on in the hotel where the restaurant was located. The music was very loud and they had live dance performances and everything. It was pretty impressive!
