By the time we got back from our visit to the Big Budda, it was around 6:30pm. We wanted to have dinner before making the trip across the border, so we stopped, enjoyed the views of the financial district and all of the tall buildings, then took the elevator up to the Ritz-Carlton and enjoyed dinner on the 102nd floor. We even visited the roof-top bar at the 118th floor. Wow! Very cool hotel! Here are some fun photos of the evening.
The most exciting part of the evening was passing through customs. We took the easy approach getting into Hong Kong - we paid 2000 RMB for a nice taxi driver to take us all the way through the border. However, coming home, we decided to just take a taxi to the border - go through on foot, then get another taxi on the other side. Well - the first adventure happened as we walked into the customs floor. We saw a HUGE line and mass of people, so we both wanted to take a photo. However, Jack didn't have his phone - he had left it in the cab!! Luckily, I asked him to get a receipt and it had the taxi cab number. I remembered that the taxi's don't leave, they just queue up to take people home. So we found the line and about 3 minutes later, we located the cab. I ripped open the door and on the floor, I found his phone and his wallet! He doesn't even remember taking his wallet out of his pocket! Anyway - in the 5-10 minutes it took to locate his phone and wallet, about 500 more people poored into the customs hall. It took us about an hour to clear customs and it actually went much faster than I thought it would.
