Sometimes, it is just worth it to take the afternoon off so I can focus on things that need to be done at work. Well, today - I did a bit more than that. I left work right after lunch and went straight to the Golf Course. I was able to play 9 holes with Shawn Murray - we didn't even discuss meeting up, but it worked out perfectly, especially since the forecast is for rain all week long.
After golf, I got home around 3:30pm and as a family, we all started working in the yard - for about 4 hours. We were able to mostly clean out the berm around the firepit and we cleaned out ALL of the garden boxes, staked them and put down landscape fabric so that we can hopefully spend much less time weeding this summer!! We will all keep our fingers crossed!
After working in the yard, Jantzen taught us an AWESOME FHE. We did some felt-board scripture stories, then he had made a puzzle that we all worked together to put together. He bore his testimony and it was a great lesson. Jantzen is really starting to show some very strong faith in the Gospel. He often says a prayer when we lose something or we need something - in my opinion, his prayers have ALWAYS been answered. I think he has a really good testimony of the power of prayer.
The missionaries came over to the house on Sunday and they gave him a copy of the Book of Mormon. He's been reading it and he's already at 1 Nephi 8 or 9. He loves to read it with Amy or I - it's kind of like his special time with us. What a great kid! One of the best things is that he's stayed dry - no accidents at all - for over a month! Incredible and I'm so proud of him! I told him I would take him on an overnight date to Dave & Busters if he stays dry for a month - well - he made it! I'm going to have to find some time to schedule that now!
Here are some photos of Jantzen's puzzle from FHE and I threw in a couple of other photos - including when Aubrey dressed up Halle and even put makeup on her! Ha!
