Golf and Miss Saigon

My first day back from London. Amy let me sleep in this morning instead of getting up to take the kids to school. That made all the difference to me - she's so sweet. I woke up at 7:30am, got ready and left around 8:30. I had emailed back and forth with Jamie Hardy on Thursday, while on the plane from Houston, and we booked a tee time for 9am on Friday. It was cold this morning, but we made it work. I had a GREAT time! I played the first 9 by myself and I did okay. I didn't shoot as low as I have been and I struggled with my short irons, but I started to clean things up. Jamie met me on the back 9 and we had a blast together. The weather got better and we both played great. Here's a shot of me with my 2nd shot on hole 17. I ended up with a tap-in birdie. That always feels good!

Work went pretty well. I was able to get some important things done and I felt like I was on top of things. In retrospect, there are still 5-6 more things that I should have done that I will have to jump on top of tomorrow. Unfortunately, I'm in meetings pretty much the entire day tomorrow - it's going to be NUTS this week.

At 5:30pm, Jon & Robyn Pemberton picked us up. We went to the dinner theatre together to watch Miss Saigon. There were some racy parts at the beginning - the story is about prostitution during the Vietnam War - but the end was very touching. It's a very good play. The food was great and we really enjoyed spending time with them. We had Lauryn as our baby sitter - she does a great job. She even had the kids make halloween ginger-bread houses. It feels better to have someone you trust with this kids!
