The first day with the Alcatel-Lucent team here in London was VERY successful! We started at about 9am and we went solid until 6pm. We spent the first day focusing on Memories, Power and we started the detailed discussion on clocking. Honestly, I was hoping to get more done for work, but I was pulled into the technical discussions, so I didn't get much work done. However, it was good to get integrated a little into the technical details of this program. I'm going to need to continue to stay very plugged into these designs.
For lunch, we visited a new little pub called "the Oaks". The place was completely empty when we got there, so I was a little nervous about the place, but it turned out to be a great place to eat. I had a chicken sandwich and chips. Not the best meal, but for lunch, it was okay.
For dinner, we dined at the Pheasant restaurant by the airport. This is a great little place that we tend to eat at each time we come out. Once again, the place did not disappoint. I had a huge piece of swordfish and we ate so much that we skipped dessert.
All in all, day 2 was a success at work, but we ran into some snags trying to align Mark with the SerDes clocking plans. So, I reserved a conference room at the hotel and we held a teleconference with the FTC team so that we could get the info we needed to work back with Elway. That worked out pretty well. We also let Brad and Jason attend an Enso meeting. I was frustrated that the conference room did have good internet, but everything else was great.
