Turbulence over Denver

I'm coming back from a long day trip to CA and there's no doubt about it - this is definitely some of the worst turbulence that I've experienced in a really long time! Wow! It's hard to even type or see the screen.

Anyway, trip to CA today was to meet internally to discuss several topics with xLSI guys. Good meetings and great alignment. The biggest success story of the day was getting $300k budget approval to buy more machines for our lab. That is a HUGE victory and I'm very happy we made this happen so quickly!! The teams should be very excited about this!

I also got a call from Greg and he gave me a $2k spot bonus for all of the hard work I've been doing. Very nice token of appreciation! Then, Prabhu gave me a $99 Amazon bonus. Very cool and very much appreciated. I've enjoyed working with both of these guys.

Next, I had lunch with Venkat - very good lunch - at way too much. We went to the Banana Leaf. I haven't been there in years - AWESOME food, but very rich. We had a great discussion as well.

I also had meetings with Elway and Brocade - both meetings went great. Last meeting was with eInfoChips. I let them know that we are not planning to use them post-Lion & Starlifter. He was bummed, but I did let him know that we could have a slot for them with the new DCSG team. I need to bring this one up with the rest of the guys.

Finally, what is really pressing on my now is my sweet son Jantzen. I really love my boy. He is so much fun to be with and to play with, but he's not doing well socially at school. He has potty accidents nearly everyday and Amy and I think we've finally nailed this down to be related to social pressures at school. He appears to be in a vicious cycle of not having friends, which makes him feel bad, then he has accidents, which kids notice and it further alienates him. I have made a very firm decision that I will start volunteering at the school EVERY Friday (or Monday) to ensure that he is getting attention from me. I'm hoping that my presence will help him feel more comfortable and get him to open up a bit. In turn, I hope that helps with his potty problems. He is going to be in my prayers for a while!!

Right now, I feel VERY bloated - I ate too much and I'm actually hurting a bit!

Well - we landed - time to wrap up and get off the plane. It's 10:30pm and I have a long drive ahead of me still....
