A nice evening at home

We had nothing on the agenda tonight at home (except for selling Jantzen's old race-car bed, which we successfully sold for $200 to a very nice couple of doctors that just moved to the area). It was nice to eat dinner together and then just be with the family. Unfortunately, Jantzen was a little too tired, so he played a little too rough with Aubrey in the bathtub and he had to go to bed early. I yelled at him for what he did and honestly, I feel bad since I feel like I probably yelled too much and I lost control of my temper a bit. I apologized to him later, let him know why he was in trouble, then I let him cuddle with me as he fell asleep. He is a REALLY good little boy and I love him like crazy. He is learning a bunch as he grows up. He definitely has a little OCD - everything needs to be orderly and under his control or he really loses control of himself. But, he's a happy boy and loves to learn. We need to work on his reading a bit since he doesn't really do that well, but he really loves math and he does amazing with Math concepts. He's a smart kid!

Work was pretty good today. I had one extended staff meeting and the rest of the day was filled with 1-1's. It was good to bounce some decisions off some of the leads and make sure that I'm aligned with where the lab is heading. I still marvel that I have the position that I have as I still feel very inadequate to perform my job. I have so much still to learn, but it is a pleasure to do that each day. I have to say that for the moment, my job satisfaction is VERY high. I work with really great people and its very nice to have such a great culture for work. Tomorrow, I will be on an airplane again, headed to San Jose to meet with Cisco and then go to a hockey game with Insieme. Should make for an interesting day.

Amy and I are feeling very close right now. We have been working really well as a team and we have been communicating very well. It was really nice to have the time off that we did to re-connect and re-establish family bonds. It has really showed this first week back to school and work. I just hope we can keep those connections strong and continue working together as a family.

Amy and Melinda have been exchanging emails this week, which has been really cool. Melinda has decided to go back to church as a part of her New Year's resolutions. She is also planning to distance herself from Matt as she feels like he may bring her down instead of lifting her up. I'm VERY proud of her for making that decision and for doing what she thinks is right. She's a strong lady with loads of conviction right now. Amy and I keep her in our prayers. We also pray for Tracie, but I don't think she's ready to turn around until she gets rid of Sebastian. He is a total loser and he needs to move on with his life. He is ruining Tracie's life. But, Tracie is going to need to get to the point where she can make that decision for herself. She's 40 years old now! :)

Time for bed!
