Day 2-3 of Summer Vacation

Well - there really isn't much to say about Day 2. We all slept in a bit to recover from the long travel, then I ended up spending a huge portion of the day working on a spreadsheet for work to align on the staffing plans. It was a LONG day working on that, when I really just wanted to be on vacation with the family. But, I got it done and sent off, so I was happy with the result.

We didn't do much else that first day. Melinda showed up, which was exciting for everyone, but Tracie actually left. There was a hurricane that hit the NC coast and with her job at the Red Cross, she had to go work to take care of things. Not sure how much of that is true or if she was just using that as a ploy to get out of the house. I do have a nice photo of all of Tracies nieces & nephews with her that I will include once I download it from the SLR.

Day 3 was arguably the best day of the entire trip. We went to Pisgah Forest and went swimming. First, we went to Coon Tree and I was amazed at my kids! Jantzen actually jumped off the 10 foot ledge with me. He did such a great job! I was so very proud of him! Wow!! He's actually doing much better with swimming now. Ashtyn also jumped from there, but Alyssa jumped from a little lower. They had a great time with Alex though!

After Coon Tree - we went to the Fish Hatchery and had a little break. The kids had fun running around, feeding the fish, and being in the sunshine a bit. That lasted a little while before we headed up to Looking Glass Falls. I really love that place - brings back some incredible memories. Wow!! We used to go up there all the time - with Mom. I'm sure she was with us on that day. The entire day was just so much fun. I will post some photos - again - once I've downloaded them.
