Tuesday was a very long day, but I will not complain about how things turned out. It was really a great day, with successful meetings and in the end, two very happy customers. Here's how things turned out today:
- 6:30am - I hit the Lower Guadelupe Trail for a 5k run. I was surprised at how hard this was. I am really out of shape and I need to get back into more consistent exercise. Being sick and unhealthy for so long has really taken it's toll on me.
- 9:00am - Meeting at Cisco building #7 with the Cisco GSM and DFT folks. This was a big meeting, with about 60 folks in the room or on the web-ex. We were finally revealing our plans for embedded MBIST for our 16FF memories. Cisco was lobbying for us to keep the xLSI SMS BIST in place and we had to take a strong position on why the embedded BIST approach is the right thing for both Cisco and Avago. I'm really glad that we had Mukesh on board to help us through this meeting. Mukesh is from our product engineering team and he knows a ton about SRAM testing. His knowledge was invaluable and he did a fantastic job representing the new Avago with Cisco. This meeting could not have gone better. I was very pleased with how things turned out. In the end, we aligned on a our go-forward plan. We still have work to do on this, but this was a great start.
- 11:00am - Goldeneye4 DKO with Brocade. My work the night before really paid off. We had around 50 people involved in this meeting from both Brocade and Avago. We let Michael Porter drive the meeting, but I ended up presenting about 50% of the material and making sure we are aligned with Brocade's needs throughout the meeting. In the end, the meeting was very successful and it was great to start off this new engagement with Brocade with a successful meeting.
- 2:30pm - 6:00pm - Slide prep at Panera Bread. I grabbed a pastry, a Dr. Pepper, and a booth. I sat there for nearly 4 hours working on the slides for Wednesday's meeting with HP. I was super tired. the week was catching up with me, but I got it done. 85 slides were shipped out for review.
- 6:30pm - 9:30pm - Dinner with Brocade at Left Bank on Santana Row in San Jose. This was my second time at this restaurant. It was pretty good - I ate a little healthier and chose the Salmon. Overall, I really enjoyed dinner. We got most of the Brocade team out for dinner and we had a really great time with them. The schedule is very aggressive for this design - I just hope we can be successful!
- 9:50pm - 1:30am - Yep - crazy me! With slides done, the heavy meetings for the week over, I decided to celebrate and I went to see the latest Transformers movie "Dawn of Extinction". I got to see it in IMAX and in 3D. It was incredible! I really enjoyed the movie a bunch. But I will pay for it on Wednesday!
