Well, I had been so productive the rest of the week that Thursday just wasn't that bad. I was busy with meetings in the morning, but the afternoon was open. So, after attending a 3pm meeting with Cisco, I snuck away to the Harmony Club to play a round of 18 holes. It turned out to be a beautiful day, with temperatures over 90. I decided to play by myself, which I have NEVER done before. I didn't think I would enjoy it, but I really did. It was fun to be alone, to think and to play. I even had my iPad out there so I could keep up on work when things slowed down. I had a great round, shooting an 83, and I even joined up with DeHaven and Dennis, playing the last 5 holes with them. They were great players, but I will say that I played pretty well also. I made some mistakes, but in general, I'm happy with the score! Here's photos of my scorecard:
The best part of the day was still to come. I got home about 5:20pm - that's right, I played 18 holes in about 3 hours. I'm REALLY going to love being a member at Harmony. I love to play golf, but I love to play fast golf even better. I don't even mind playing at the same course every time!
When I got home, we had a quick dinner, then I took Alyssa and Aubrey to Keith Van Tassell's customer appreciation night at Fort Fun. It really was a bunch of fun! We did the big slide, we played miniature golf, we did the arcades and we even tried to do the face-painting and the balloons, but we were cut off from those lines - oh well! Jantzen was not able to come - he's really been having a hard time with potty - even at school. We are really working with him now and we are trying to provide positive encouragement. But, negative consequences are also important and that's why he missed the fun. However, it was kind of nice to not have him around. I got to play with my kids and we had a blast. I also spent about 20 minutes on the phone with Melinda, which was really needed! I feel bad that I was on the phone when I should have been playing with my kids though. One goal for me is to put away my electronics when I'm around the kids. I need to be more engaged with them and demonstrate my love more completely!!
Here's a few photos of the evening with the girls:
