Golf on Monday

Today was actually a pretty great day! Amy and I are considering whether or not to join the Harmony club with a family membership. The idea is actually very appealing and I'm hoping that we find a way to make it happen. I think it sounds great to be able to play as much golf as I want and to also have a very nice outdoor pool for the kids. There's also tennis courts, a basketball hoop and a health club. It's a very nice place and I think we could really enjoy being members. Honestly, I like the idea of the health club aspect of the membership - I could really use a good reason to work-out everyday. I definitely need something - I'm not making it right now and I'm really struggling to do any kind of exercise.

The rest of the day was pretty typical. I had several meetings at work, that all went well, and I was able to align with several customers. Google has been worried about the right package stack-up for GApp and Insieme is pushing to be the first chip to release in 16FF+ process. There's a bunch going on!

One issue that I will be dealing with this week is that there are 3 engineers that will be joining Venkat's team as on-site engineers. One of them has escalated his concerns for the transition and he's actually being borderline in-subordinate with his behavior. It will be very interesting to deal with him. I have to fly to CA on Wednesday for several customer meetings, but a primary meeting will be to meet with this individual. We'll see how things go...

Tonight for FHE, Amy had all of the kids take tests to determine their "love language". It was actually a pretty cool idea and the results were interesting. Here are the love languages for our family:

  • Me: Physical Touch & Words of Affirmation
  • Amy: Acts of Service & Quality Time
  • Ashtyn: Gifts &
  • Alyssa: Words of Affirmation & Quality Time
  • Jantzen: Acts of Service & Words of Affirmation (I think he's also physical touch)
  • Aubrey: Well rounded - she was pretty equal on all of them
  • Jarrett: Being held...

It was a fun evening with the family!

Here are some really fun photos of our afternoon golfing together. Amy even played a couple of holes. I shot an awesome round - scored a 39!
