Amy and the girls had a Stake Activity Days lesson planned for 10am - 1pm today, so I had the entire morning and the early afternoon with the little kids. I took advantage of it and I really enjoyed my time with the kids. We slept in a bit, but then we had a quick breakfast, cleaned up the kitchen and got the kids ready to go. By a little before 10am, we were out the door and ready for our morning. First, we got the car washed - the Maxima really needed a bath. Next, we went to Fort Fun. Jantzen and Aubrey love that place and I really enjoy watching them have fun. Amy took the baby carrier with her, so I held Jarrett the entire morning. Needless to say - my arms are sore - he's getting heavy.
We had fun playing the Arcade games (the kids earned 520 tickets) and we also played a fun round of mini-golf. It was a bit of a challenge to play while holding Jarrett. In hind sight, I should have just watched and not played. Would have saved $7. The kids each got a hole in one though! Here are photos of them on the holes they aced. There's also a fun photo of all three kids - Jarrett looks like he's about to be dropped!
As always, we enjoyed letting the kids ride the carousel, but the increased the price to a full dollar to ride! At least all three kids got to enjoy the ride. Here are some fun photos:
After Fort Fun, we actually ran up to the cheap theatre in FTC and we watched "How to Train Your Dragon 2" in 3D. We enjoyed some popcorn and Soda and little Baby Jarrett even did a great job in the theatre. Yep - it was a little brave to take 3 little kids to the movies, but I enjoyed it and the kids behaved really well.
Next, we grabbed a replacement sprinkler from Lowe's (one in the front yard failed) and then we ran home. We got home about 3pm and I quickly went out to mow the lawn before our BBQ on Saturday night. Honestly, I expected to be able to mow the lawn quickly, but it was taller than I expected and it took until 4:50pm. But, it looked great for our BBQ.
At 5pm, we had the Huff's, the Jones', the Harding's and the Murray's for dinner. Amy made pulled pork and BBQ chicken legs and we had some great sides brought over. It was really fun to hang out with these families and it was a great BBQ. It was our 4th and last of the year. The kids all played great together and it was a relaxing evening.
Summary of the day - it was a great day - I was exhausted at the end of the day, but it was a great day!
