During breakfast, I had to use the bathroom and they didn't have one inside the restaurant. Instead, I had to use the public restroom in the middle of the wharf area. That was hands-down one of the nastiness restrooms I've ever seen, much less used. If it wasn't an emergency, I would have passed. (Just had to include this memory.....)
Next, we spend about 45 minutes strolling around the wharf and enjoying the submarine and liberty-class battleship, the Jeremiah O'Brien. The battleship was the last remaining of the liberty-class that actually participated in the normandy beach invasion. We didn't have time to tour them, but we enjoyed taking photos.
After enjoying the Wharf, we launched the "Escallade" for our trip north to Crescent City, CA. The GPS said it would take 6.5 hours to get there, but we hit a horrible traffic jam that had us going about 20 mph for nearly 20 miles, so it was a very painful start. We made it to Cloverdale around lunchtime and enjoyed a yummy lunch at the "Hamburger Ranch", a mom-and-pop restaurant that turned out to be very good.
Finally, around 7pm, we made it to our house on the Smith River outside of Crescent City, CA. The home is at 5955 N Bank St and is a beautiful, 5 bedroom home. We took a few photos of the place once we arrived - mostly of the view...
