In June, Amy and I will have lived in Windsor for 16 years and in our Soaring Eagle home for 7 years. I can't believe it has been that long in our current home. We really love our current home, but this past winter did a number on the roof. We realized after seeing shingles in the yard that we had a huge section of the roof with missing shingles. We worked with the insurance company and got a new roof approved. Once we got everything approved, we pulled the trigger and got the roof replaced very quickly.
On the same day the crew finished replacing the roof (5/25), we also made our final house payment as we used some of our recent stock RSU's to fully pay off the house. We are now full home owners instead of "mortgage owners". It is a very cool feeling! So - as of 5/25/17, Amy and I are officially our of debt!! We still have a mortgage for Adam and Mary's home, but that's a business investment, so it doesn't really count.
It feels good to be out of debt!
