Paris 2017 - Day 2 - Louvre & Bateaux Mouches

After such a long travel day and getting to be so late, we slept in on Day 3 and enjoyed waking up a little late.  After getting dressed, we ventured out in the rain to find some breakfast.  We stumbled into a nice little cafe close to the Louvre and we really enjoyed breakfast:

After breakfast, we braved the rain and walked to the Louvre.  The line was extremely long, so we quickly ordered some "reserved" tickets online, which gave us 45 minutes to walk around, take some photos and enjoy the "rain".  Here are some fun photos of our "wait time":

Inside the Louvre, it was extrememly packed.  Amy and I went on a "free day" in 2009 and it wasn't even as busy as it was today - crazy!  But, we saw some of the major highlights and spent about 2-3 hours in the museum.  It was fun to see the girl's reaction to the Mona Lisa...

After the Louvre, we went shopping along the tourist section just to the north.  I waited in line for about 35 minutes for a table at Angelina's while the girls did some more shopping.  We really enjoyed lunch at our favorite cafe in Paris!

After lunch, we scrambled over to the Bateaux Moches for a tour down the Seine River.  The rain had mostly stopped, so the trip was very enjoyable!

After the boat ride, we crabbed a crepe on the street, then walked up to Notre Dame.  We weren't able to tour the top, but we walked around inside.  The were holding a live mass, so we didn't stay too long.  But we enjoyed taking some photos.

After Notre Dame, we slipped up to the Opera house to try to sneak in to see the inside, but they only let you do that until 5pm (we learned that lesson too late).  But we took some nice photos from the outside, then we ate dinner at the Royal Opera cafe - it was really awesome food and we loved our waiter.  We tried to take a photo of him, but he refused.  He was really fun, though!
