Every 3rd Sunday is a long day as the YM president, but today was especially long! Wow! Here's the events of the day:
- 8am - make super breakfast for the kids. I can't remember the last time I made a great breakfast on Sunday morning, so it was a treat for all of us.
- 9am - PEC - it was a nice meeting and didn't last too long. We discussed several topics and we made some good progress on home teaching companionships for the YM. It was also nice to meet together after Coby's baptism on Saturday. What a treat!
- 11am - a great sacrament meeting. Coby asked me to confirm him and I must say that I was humbly honored. What a treat! I've always thought that Coby was a great man and I was very blessed with the opportunity to confirm him. As a ward, we've worked with the Ford's for years, so it was very satisfying to witness the transformation in his life. Our Sister Missionaries are fantastic and they really do a great job. I need to take a photo of them and put them in my journal! The rest of church was really good as well. Matt Kelly once again taught a great lesson for Teacher Development. I've really enjoyed that class and it's fun to brainstorm with everyone.
- 2pm - Priests quorum presidency meeting. We held a REAL presidency meeting, even though Richard and Kyle weren't at church. Thomas and Travis joined with Austin and we had a great meeting that lasted a full hour. But we planned activities, talked about all of the Priests, planned a rotation for taking the Sacrament to Rick Smith and planned out the Come Follow Me lessons for April. It was great.
- 3pm - We drove out to Rick Smith's to give him the Sacrament. Travis and Thomas represented the Aaronic Priesthood while Ali and Jenna represented the YW. We held a 20min meeting, complete with a song, prayers, a scripture, a spiritual thought and the sacrament. Rick was VERY appreciative. He's a good man and I feel so bad for him with all that he's been going through!
- 4pm - Dinner with the family. We had steak, sweet potatoe fries, and salad. It was awesome! Amy also made cookies and we really enjoyed the 1.5 hours together
- 5:30pm - BYC at the Murrays. This was definitely the best BYC that I've attended. All of the youth were really prepared and it made a huge difference. I forgot to tell that to they youth (and I should) but I know they noticed the difference!
- 6:30pm - Fireside on genealogy. Sister Tanner did a great job and we printed out family "fans" for all of the youth. We had record attendance (23 showed up) and everyone had a fan by the end. I was amazed.
- 8pm - Scout Committee meeting - even though I was already worn out and tired, we had a great meeting and we discussed some important topics that hadn't already been discussed. I even left with a couple of action items that I took care of on Monday. We didn't end until 9:30pm.
